Bry is an irish singer and songwriter who has been on tour in Europe with Twenty One Pilots last year - that's where I first saw him live. Shortly after I had seen him in Hamburg and Düsseldorf as a support act, he released his debut album named "Bry". His music goes kind of in the direction of indie-pop and is really chilled. On the 19th of April 2017 - the day of my first final exam and a day before my birthday - Bry played a gig in Hamburg and not only Bry was coming to Hamburg, but also a lot of the people I had met at the Twenty One Pilots shows last year!

I got up pretty early that morning, because my finals started and I had to be there by 8:45am. The exam took me until 2:30pm and by then a lot of my friends were already at the venue queueing, so I went home, ate something as I was really tired from the exam and needed some energy and then left to the venue too, to see my friends. It took me about 25 - 30 minutes to get to the venue and when I arrived my friends ran up to me and hugged me, because I hadn't seen most of them since November. It was a really emotional moment and even though I did not want to queue for Bry in a small venue, I was happy to be there and see my friends - especially the ones who came as a surprise! We were a huge group of people sitting on the benches in front of the Knust and drinking wine, while catching up on everything we had missed.

We had three more hours to go before the entrance started, so we got a few more bottles of wine and made ourselves comfortable until the doors opened. When the entrance started we had just gotten two more bottles of wine and truly did not feel like going in already - especially because we all only queued to spend time together and not to be the first ones in the venue. so we drank the wine and went in after everyone had been inside already. After going to the toilet and sitting a little bit inside of the venue we decided to go outside for a cigarette and then to the Bar in the venue, to chill there before the concert started - meanwhile the support act was on stage performing already. We ordered a round of shots and then kept sitting in the bar talking to each other, still kind of catching up

About 15 to 20 minutes later the support act was done performing and we went inside the venue to see Bry. As he came on stage it all kind of felt like a Twenty One Pilots concert over again - being reunited with my friends and seeing their support act.

Even though Bry only has one album out yet he managed to play a really good and not too short show! The ones who have seen him already know that he is a pretty good entertainer and huge fan of bad jokes what made the show not only good but also fun. My friends and I were standing in the back of the venue because we didn't want to go all the way through the crowd to get to our friends in the front row, plus we had way more space to dance where we were standing.

The whole show was like a party and threw me back to the shows in November. We were a huge group of friends who obviously had the time of their lives anf forgot everything else for a moment. Whether it was singing along, dancing or even having a mosh - we for sure made the whole venue go insane in good and bad ways (I'm sure some people close to us were annoyed by us but we didn't mind).  Throughout the show our emotions became more intense and wherever I looked I just saw my friends being completely happy and satisfied.

After a few songs our group increased as our friends crowd surfed all the way from the front to the back and then the party became even bigger when Bry covered a Twenty One Pilots song, because most of the crowd knew him because of them. My friends and I immediately started to sing along and dance - one of them even jumped up on the stage and danced along to the song until they brought her down. We took each other on our shoulders and it all felt incredibly unique in that moment. All the memories and the happyness that were rushing down on me were indescribable and being there made me more than just happy. For that time I had forgotten about all the stress the exams were gonna bring for me and also everything else that wasn't going good in my life then.

The show ended and we all were full of sweat and completely done, so we went back to the bar and releaxed for a moment, until Bry came back from the Backstage area and took photos inside of the venue. We went inside and got a few autographs. My friends told him that  it was my birthday the day after and that he should take a birthday shot with us but we actually did not expect anything to happen.

As my best friends were coming to the venue to have a little celebration with me for my birhtday, we still had time to wait a little bit for Bry and my birthday shot, what indeed happened. We talked to the crew for a while and suddenly they got Bry out who was carrying two cups filled with a shot. We took it, he hugged me and when the other people around us started serenading me, the crew filmed us and formed the perfect ending to a perfect night.

8th of November - the day before the concert

My bus to Düsseldorf was gonna leave at 9am, so I got up around 7am to take a shower, get dressed and check all my things before leaving off for another and hopefully better concert of Twenty One Pilots. The train to the central station was filled with people I barley fit into it with my tent and bags, but I somehow made it and when I got off I still had enough time until my bus was coming.

After a short delay of the bus, I was finally able to get in and realize that barley anyone was taking the same bus as me, so I had two seats for myself. The ride on the bus took about 6 hours in which I took care of my homework, read some articles in my magazine and listened to music. When I arrived Dina, who had been at the venue already, awaitet me at the station and we drove to the venue, which was really close to the central station. We were the first ones at the venue, even though we arrived around the same time as we did in Hamburg - most likely because there was still gonna be an event the day before the concert, other as in Hamburg.

We stayed a little bit further away from the venue because the security was preparing everything for the Chippendales. While we were waiting and talking two girls came up to us and asked us if we were there for Twenty One Pilots already, which was quite obvious because of the tent. After talking to her for a while we gave her a number and went closer to the venue.

By the time people got in line for the Chippendales, we were about 8 people and when it ended we were around 15 - 20 people and more kept arriving. More and more known faces from the Hamburg arrived and the waiting turned into a big reunion party with wine and music. We helped the security build up the barriers and put up our tents, while I slowly noticed how my voice started to fade away and my throat hurt - I was getting sick and we were about 30 people by then.

A few hours later I fell asleep in my tent and woke up the next morining with about 90 people behind me waiting for a number from me, but at that time I didn't really bother anymore.

9th of November - the day of the concert

I woke up freezing and with barley a voice anymore. My head hurt, my throat and my coughing was awful. I stepped out of the tent and looked around - it was raining and the whole line had been covered in umbrellas. While I was struggling with a huge lack of sleep, Dina did not even bother sleeping and stayed away the whole night and Aileen - who also stayed over night with us - didn't bother waking up.

The moment I woke up, I already knew that the day was gonna be horrible, because it was incredibly cold and raining the whole time, but I still had the number 2 written on my hand what made me stay. The hours went by really slow and at 12pm it felt like we had already been there for more than just a day. Everyone's mood was bad and nobody felt like waiting any longer, but we kept sitting there, drinking tea, sometimes leaving to go to the toilet inside the venue or get something to eat at the central station.

In the afternoon the security started rebuilding the barriers and with it the line and we started panicking that we would lose our places, so we packed up the tent and a few things and brought them to the car, before we sat down right before the barriers in front of the entrance and there we stayed - for hours. After rebuilding the line they gave us red wristbands for the pit and now Dina and I only prayed for the entrance to go all good, but we never would have imagined what was gonna happen.

Hours passed by and the closer the entrance and with it the concert came, the more nervous the people in line became what ended up in them coming closer and closer to us and standing in front of others even though they came later. The security had put a band in front of the barriers but at some point Dina and I just wanted to save our places and got behind it, inside the barriers, right in front of the doors when suddenly they began selling Merchandise right next to us and people all of a sudden were standing at places they weren't supposed to and we were afraid we would relive Hamburg all over again.

We tried to stay calm and not panic again, when suddenly one of the doors in front of us opened at a crew member of Twenty One Pilots came out to talk to us.

He asked us, if we knew English before he asked who had been first at the venue and when we arrived. I told him that Dina and I were the first ones and that we had been there since the day before. I showed him my number and told him about the rest of our system, when he said that he was gonna make sure Dina and I would get in first and then in order. He told me to get the right order into the line while he would talk to the security of the venue. He left and when he came back he told me that the security was gonna let usin first and that's when Dina and I knew that it was all worth it.

We counted down the rest of the time until the doors would open and at 6:30pm, when all doors were supposed to open, only mine and Dinas door were opened. We gave the security our tickets and once we were in, they opened the other doors. My emotions went crazy when we entered the empty venue and walked to the middle on the barricade.

We had front row and no one could take that from us.

The venue started filing up and the crew member who had arranged all of this for us came by and congratulated us for making it to the front row. I knew that this concert was gonna be the complete opposite of what we had experienced in Hamburg the week before.

I was finally able to enjoy Bry's show and not worry about my place. I danced and jumped and laughed and couldn't believe what was just happening and Twenty One Pilots weren't even on stage yet.

After Bry's show was over the curtain came down and the crew started building up the stage behind it, while an awful sound started playing, which became louder the closer we came to the show - until the lights went off and the music started playing. I was speechless then already and couldn't hold myself when the curtain fell and I was able to see everything from close up, besides crowd.

The show began and Dina and I sang along to each song with the echo of the other few thousand people behind us. I smiled my way through each song and screamed even though my voice was almost gone and I was sick. But nothing was able to bring me down while standing there. Everything felt beautiful - whether it was jumping around at their song Lane Boy, crying during the Medley or having someone next to me who was only filming the whole show - I could not have been happier.

After the Medley began the most excited and yet most stressful part of the show - taking care of Tylers and Joshs lives and making sure not to get run to death by Tyler in his hamster ball. I did everything I have always dreamt of.

It didn't take Tyler long to come up to where I was standing and climb over the barricade to get into the crowd and let them hold him during Holding On To You. He came and I was starstruck by being so close to him and literally having his butt right in front of my face and his foot in my hand. During that moment I felt completely happy and free, also knowing that it wasn't over yet but that it had just started.

A few moments later, when the Tyler was back on stage and they started playing a different song, I knew that it was just about to continue, when I saw the crew getting out the hamster ball and 6 security guards of the crew standing right in front of me ready to hand Tyler in his ball over to me. He sat down in on stage and the music was replaced by a triggering melody which made me even more nervous than I had already been. The ball slowly was filled with more and more air while I try to keep my chills, knowing that Tyler Joseph was about to run over me in a huge ball.

He then got up and the six security guard who were standing in the space of the me and the stage, put up their hands and told us to do the same as I told Dina that I wasn't ready for this to happen but then he already started running over us and into the crowd until the back of the pit, before he came back and ran us over again. I had never been a part of this part of the show until then and I didn't know what to say then because at that show and in that moment I noticed how much the band trusts their fans and what they are willing to do to proof that and with it give them back so much they get from their fandom - because for fans there is no bigger treasure than becoming an important part of the of show and being involved in what's happening.

By then the show had already given me everything but I didn't want it to stop - I wanted it to continue forever and I never wanted to let it go and that's when Josh and his drum island were given into our hands. He came down and stopped right in front of us before he also climbed up the barrier and on to the drum island which was held by us. Josh surley gave everything on the drum island and even though I couldn't see anthing besides the people around me holding Josh with me, I enjoyed it. It made me realize what music is about and what concerts give to you - no matter if you're able to see everything or nothing. Concerts are not just about beeing front row and being closest to the artists; they are about finally hearing everything you usually only hear through headphones in real life and with it feeling what the music gives to you.

The rest of the show was a blast and I have never enjoyed anything more than those minutes and hours. Experiencing everything from my perspective was like a dream coming true to me. I felt the energy from the stage running through my whole body and bringing me to feeling things I have barley experienced before.

When the show was over and the red confetti from Trees was all over my in sweat and waterfalls of tears covered face I could not believe what had just happened. My friends and I were speechless and none of us was able to speak in full sentences. While most of them still had tickets for other shows it was all over for me and I didn't know whether to be happy or sad about it but I by far knew, from the first time on I saw Twenty One Pilots that they are a blessing to the music business - not only with their amazing songs but also with their incredible and touching live shows. I knew that Twenty One Pilots are the bet live act I have ever seen and on the next tour I wouldn't waste a second buying several tickets.
